See our submission guidelines at the bottom of this page.
Whether you're someone dealing with a mental health condition or a mental health professional wanting to share your wisdom, we'd love to include you! Read below for our guidelines.
Anything related to mental health, such as anxiety, depressions, PTSD, C-PTSD, as well as Autism and sensory needs. Struggles, stories of overcoming/coping, tips/advice, etc.
Specifically from mental health professionals: tips or advice for those dealing with any of the above, news in the mental health world, pieces geared towards helping therapists help their clients or improve their business, or other relevant topics.
We also want to keep the site safe, so we ask that there is no extreme use of language, graphics, or affiliations.
We would love to include anyone with something to say. However, if you are writing from a mental health professional standpoint, we require your credentials be listed.
When you're ready to submit and have met all the requirements, simply email your submission as a Word Doc, add your bio and headshot along with any social links you want to share, and include your photos as .jpg attachments. Our email can be found in our footer.
Our ideal timeline is to get back to you within 48 hours on whether or not we can use your piece.
If we can use your piece, you'll go into our queue. We aim to post a guest blog at least once a month depending on the demand. We'll go through the editing process, discuss any changes needed, and inform you when it will go live.
If we do not, we will not use your information for anything else and you can do whatever you'd like with your material.
Once your material is accepted, we ask that you do not publish it anywhere else online. If you need to link to it and/or use a snippet, that is perfectly fine, we just want to avoid duplicate content and upsetting Google.
We also ask that you share the post in at least 2 places / at least 2 times. This way, your work gets out there!
Your submitted Word Doc should use/have the following:
Be at least 500 words, and up to 2500 as needed.
Poppins 18pt font when possible.
One H1 (heading/title) only.
Subheadings identified as H2, H3, H4, depending on the use/placement.
Bolded, italicized, or underlined portions when emphasis is needed.
Hyperlinked text to any outside sources or other pages on our website.
If you use quotes, please identify them with quotation marks and be sure to give attribution.
Include notation of where any photos go (match the notation spot to the title or description of the photo for reference).
In addition:
If you know anything about SEO and want to increase your post ranking, please identify your keywords/phrases, post description, etc. at the top of your document. If this is not included, I will choose the best options.
If you include any data or other information, please provide numbered sources at the bottom of your document with a matching reference number attached to the location in the text.
Photos should be:
A higher resolution jpg made for the web. Most images will suffice, but if you are not sure, just ask.
Ideally, photos should be square or rectangle (wide) in size.
Ones that you own the rights to OR photos from free sources. Do not submit photos you found on Google. Photo attribution is required when using photos you do not own. These are available on free photo sites and will show you how to properly share an attribute. You can title it as the attribute or list the attribute in the email.
Each post should include at least 2 photos. More can be submitted as well.
The first photo will be the image seen when the blog is shared, when it is on the blog landing page before opening the blog, and at the top of the blog. It should fit the entire blog.
The second photo should be placed somewhere inside the content, ideally around half way down.
Any other photos can be spread out.
Photos include infographics.
Each blog post will include a short bio. You can see my bio as a sample by going into one of my blogs and scrolling to the bottom. This is how it will show. Bios will include:
Your headshot.
A short write-up about you.
Links any social media channels you want to share. Currently only Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube are supported.
